Selection Process
The recruitment is conducted in 3 stages by NTA. Final merit is based on Stage-II + Stage-III marks combined (200 marks total).
Stage-I — Preliminary Exam (Screening)
- 200 MCQ, 200 marks, 3 hours, OMR-based (Pen & Paper)
- Subjects: General Science, History, Indian Polity, Economy, Culture, Agriculture, Geography, Current Affairs, General Aptitude, UP Special Knowledge, General English & Hindi (Graduation Level), Elementary Computer Knowledge
- No negative marking. No minimum qualifying marks.
- Top 7× candidates (category/post-wise) shortlisted for Stage-II & III.
Stage-II — Mains Exam (Subjective)
- 150 marks, 2 hours, Pen & Paper
- Essay Writing in English (30), Précis Writing (30), English to Hindi Translation (25), Hindi to English Translation (25), Comprehension in English (40)
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50 out of 150 (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD get 5% relaxation)
Stage-III — Computer Knowledge Test (CKT)
- 50 marks, 20 minutes, CBT mode
- English typing test (~500 words); minimum speed 25 WPM
- Minimum qualifying: 25 out of 50
- Each mistake = 0.1 marks deducted
- Stage-II and Stage-III conducted on same day, same venue, with 20-minute gap.
No Interview for any post.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university established by law in India
- AND any one of: Diploma/Degree in Computer Science | NIELIT ‘O’ Level Certificate | CCC Certificate from a recognized institute
- AND Knowledge of Data Entry, Word Processing & Computer Operation
- AND Minimum English Typing Speed: 25 Words per Minute on computer
Preferential Qualification: Candidates with 2+ years in Territorial Army OR ‘B’ Certificate of NCC will be given preference (other things being equal).
