HPSC conducted the HCS Preliminary Examination 2025 on 26 April 2026 under Advertisement No. 22/2026. Approximately 93,000 candidates applied, out of which around 48,000+ appeared for the exam. The result process involved the following stages:
- 2 May 2026: Marks of all appeared candidates released along with the Final Answer Key
- 4 May 2026: Prelims Result declared — 1899 candidates initially shortlisted for Mains
- 20 May 2026: Category-wise result released — 1228 candidates qualified for Mains

Note: 2199 OMR sheets for General Studies and 3189 OMR sheets for CSAT were rejected and not counted in result preparation. Candidates can check rejected OMR status on the official website.
